Hangeng & Kangin

Speaking of Kangin, the only word coming from my mind, strength!
Of course Kangin’s role in SUPER JUNIOR was always one of great strength,
even Shindong would say that, Kangin hyung has a lot of strength,
therefore, his strength is undoubtful. But other than strength, Kangin,
according to my faint memories, is a person who speaks his mind, has
amazing speech skills, likes fooling around, treats fans nicely, and a person
that likes showing love to his members; he’s also generous, warm-hearted,
and possesses his own way of helping others; and also born to be on stage,
an idol suited for his fans!
There were rumors that said Geng and Kangin
didn’t get along, there were also fans that were a little mad at Kangin
for making fun of Geng’s Chinese in Full House, But I saw that in FULL
HOUSE, Kangin wasn’t as close to Geng as Heechul was, wasn’t as brotherly
like Siwon was, but he really does like Geng. Maybe a lot of fans didn’t pay
attention to this scene, but in the first episode of Full House, originally
it was Geng that picked up Anya & Eva’s Suitcases, but because at that
time Geng had hurt his wrist, and was wearing a wrist-protector. It was
Kangin that went over to Geng and took the suitcases out of his hands,
so Geng could rest his wrist. It was that scene, that i realized,
Kangin actually really likes Geng! Kangin and Hangeng, in other people’s
views, these two are two completely different people, If you put it this
way, if Kangin is Fire then Geng’s probably the Water. Kangin is
warm-hearted, likes to talk, very loud, when he’s bored he’d always
mess around with everyone around him, on his body you’d always find fun,
similar to fire, he lights up other people’s days. But what about Geng?
Geng is the quiet kind, and very calm. When he has nothing to do; he’d
watch scary movies by himself, read books, go online, when members
gather together he’d be at the corner and calmly smile at members
messing around. Similar to water, watching his calm eyes, his warm eyes,
you’d calm down no matter what you’re doing, all of a sudden your soul is
a lot clearer. There’s an old saying that Fire and Water don’t mix,
but looking at them I can tell they’re working together,
accepting each other, they’ve already became one.
Remember the Behind the Scenes for TWINS MV? Kangin and Hangeng
on each other, standing together. Kangin——self proclaimed korea’s
number one handsome guy, keeps saying that his Hangeng hyung is
so handsome, he would use chinese to say Geng Ge, Geng Ge, He’d
also praise Geng for his nice figure, he’d tap geng on the butt, and
even push geng to speak more in front of the camera! And during
Super Show Hangeng’s Diary Episode, Donghae and the others all laughed
and said Hangeng doesn’t fit in the group, it was Kangin that said:
“But I think Hangeng hyung is really handsome.”
Also in many places, in little details, if you pay close attention,
you can tell that hangeng and kangin are actually very close. During
FULL HOUSE, even though a lot of fans were mad about kangin
doubting hangeng’s korean, but we can’t deny that that’s what made
geng famous, kangin would always mention geng’s korean, maybe it’s
because i always believe in them, so i believe it was kangin’s extraordinary
way of helping geng, it allowed the PD to give geng more screentime,
more time to express himself. In Star Golden Bell, when geng danced,
kangin would hold out two thumb-ups to show he was really proud of
geng’s performance. he’d have a proud look on his face when he
looks at geng, he gave geng a stand ovation when geng’s performance
was done. if he could’ve said anything at that time, i think he
would’ve defintely said: “Look, that’s my handsome, talented
hangeng hyung!” In Love Choice, Kangin showed his feelings for
Geng, when geng was playing games, kangin would stare nervously
at him. When geng fell, he wanted to get up and help him. He’d
also ignore the girls, and talk to geng who was bored next to him…..
all these small details, so many, do we still need to question their relationship?
Kangin, who would help geng carry strong things when geng hurt his wrist;
Kangin, who notices geng when geng’s too quiet, and change the topic to geng;
Kangin, who’ll give geng a warm hug on stage;
Kangin, who’ll clap and cheer geng on when geng shares his talents…..
A lot of times, Kangin would like to make geng laugh!
During Full House, he’d give some food to Geng to eat a
nearby table. During Star Golden Bell, he’d automatically quit
for geng when geng couldn’t link the words in the game. During
Behind the scenes, he’d tap geng’s butt and smile mischievously.
He’d also impersonate geng’s words in his own shows….
I think even though Kangin is always nice, he’d only joke around
with close friends, also he’d only be naughty in front a close hyung.
The entertainment circle is a real place, and especially in korea,
where they respect elders. However, Kangin to Geng is just like friends,
can’t you use another perspective to see the way these two are friends?
Even though their birthplaces aren’t the same, personalities
are different, and are separated by hyung-dongsaengs relationship.
But they’ve already broken that wall between them through their
interactions, birthplaces don’t matter, they can both compliment
the other with their different personalities, and age matters
can be forgotten. When it’s difficult to communicate with language,
they can use body language, use their hearts to communicate;
even though their personalities are different, but will tend to influence
each other when they interact, geng can feel kangin’s warmth and
kindness, kangin can learn from geng the art of patience and silence;
in reality they’re hyung and dongsaeng, but most times, they’re friends,
they’re co-workers, they’re family! February 9th, Hangeng’s birthday,
Kangin would call from his TV Program to wish Geng a happy birthday,
telling Geng about the fan’s craziness that day, and would perform
aegyo to Geng and tell him to take him to China! Yeah, even when he’s busy,
he’d think of Geng, this real side of him, how can we suspect that
he doesn’t like geng, how can we doubt their strong relationship?!
Kangin and Geng, I hope both of you can control your own wings,
fly to a realm of your own! we also hope you can look after each other,
in the stage you both belong on.
